Self taught artist, Zuleika Evans observing her art piece of three women painted on a canvas, inspired by time spent travelling in the Philippines.

Zuleika Evans

Zuleika Evans is a self-taught artist based in London whose paintings explore the meeting point of her British and Filipino heritage. Her work is a deeply personal reflection on identity, memory, and belonging, drawing on the colours, textures, and stories of two distinct yet intertwined cultures.

She spent a year travelling throughout the Philippines, immersing herself in its daily rhythms—from bustling markets and seaside towns to rural landscapes and family gatherings. These experiences continue to inform her art, infusing it with a strong sense of place and nostalgia. Her work becomes a space where memory and imagination meet, reflecting both personal history and a wider dialogue about cultural identity.

Working in an intuitive and instinctive way, she allows each piece to evolve organically, merging influences from both her cultural backgrounds.
